Job Summary

The Research, Planning and Monitoring Officer is responsible for supporting organizational growth through research, strategic planning, performance monitoring, and business analysis. The role involves conducting economic and financial research, developing performance measurement frameworks, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), preparing analytical reports, and providing data-driven insights to support management decision-making and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on economic, financial, and industry trends to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare strategic plans, annual work plans, and business performance reports.
• Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure organizational performance.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational and financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives and evaluate performance against established targets.
• Prepare periodic monitoring and evaluation reports for management.
• Conduct business and market analysis to identify opportunities and potential risks.
• Support the development and implementation of performance management frameworks.
• Prepare presentations, dashboards, and analytical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of planning and monitoring data.
• Collaborate with departments to collect data and improve organizational performance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Accounting, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in research, strategic planning, monitoring, business analysis, or the financial services or investment banking sector.

Required Knowledge

• Economic and financial analysis.
• Capital market analysis.
• Knowledge of Ethiopia’s investment banking regulatory environment.
• Performance management frameworks.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Business analytics and performance measurement techniques.

Required Skills

• Excellent analytical and research skills.
• Strong report writing and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Power BI or other data analytics and visualization tools is an advantage.
• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
• Ability to manage multiple planning, monitoring, and reporting assignments simultaneously.
