Job Purpose:

The Risk, Compliance, & Assurance Lead supports the P&CI Manager in running the P&CI Function. This role is a trusted partner for Local Management and Functions in achieving business objectives, driving improvements in processes, and strengthening the internal control environment.

Core Activities

The core activities of the Risk, Compliance, and Assurance Lead include:

  • Supporting and advising the P&CI Manager and Local Management
  • Monitoring controls
  • Managing processes and controls
  • Driving Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)
  • Managing risks
  • Ensuring compliance
  • Assisting in coordinating Lines of Defense activities

Key Responsibilities

1. Control Monitoring

  • Monitor and test control effectiveness and drive the implementation of remediating actions.
  • Deploy, test, and follow up on Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Controls:
    • Complete ICFR Master File - Tab 1.0 to 4.0 Scope + Results
    • Complete ICFR Control Tests, Test Scripts - ToD & ToE steps (jointly with the Hub)
    • Upload ICFR Control Tests
    • Complete & Upload Self-Assessment Tests
    • Prepare ICFR Review Meeting Deck (Final) with Hub.
  • Drive and follow up on the ICFR/Key control dashboard:
    • Work with Control Performers to support the design and documentation of business processes.
    • Validate and report monthly key controls performed to the FD and MD.
    • Lead by guiding and providing existing methodologies aligned with HEINEKEN’s global policies.

2. Process & Control Management

  • Work closely with the P&CI Manager to ensure business processes and controls are appropriately designed and maintained.
  • Drive the design and documentation of business processes and controls.
  • Assess the embedment of controls in the design of processes.
  • Verify that PPIs and KPIs are monitored to identify risks or opportunities for improvements.
  • Identify and report any process activities that deviate from the global standard.

3. Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, benchmarking, and innovation.
  • Build process improvement capabilities through training and development.
  • Challenge existing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Quantify financial benefits and costs associated with improvement ideas.
  • Implement process improvements and inform Local Management about progress.
  • Evaluate the success of improvement projects and benefits realized.

4. Risk Management

  • Drive the implementation of a comprehensive Risk Management framework.
  • Identify relevant risks for the business and analyze them.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and drive the creation of risk responses.
  • Develop action plans to mitigate, accept, or transfer risk.

5. Fraud Management

  • Provide support to improve fraud prevention and detection.
  • Drive fraud prevention through strong process and control design.
  • Discuss and support incident assessments following the Anti-Fraud procedure.
  • Support fraud investigations when requested.

6. Compliance Management

  • Provide assurance that processes and controls are designed and operating in line with relevant policies.

7. Assurance Activities

  • Support Global and External Audit to efficiently plan and execute audits.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Project Management

Experience and skills required

  • 3-5 years in Risk management, Compliance, and assurance activities
  • Preferably an experienced Business user
  • Standard application software skills
  • Navision experience is preferred.
