We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in PLC companies, with a particular advantage for those who have worked in import/export organizations. The role involves overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and supporting management in strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle tax declarations (VAT, Income Tax, and withholding Tax) and ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.
- Reconcile bank statements, monitor cash flow, and maintain proper documentation.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support external audits and ensure accounting records meet regulatory standards.
- Oversee inventory valuation and cost tracking, especially for import/export transactions.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to management for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- Minimum 4–6 years of proven experience as a Senior Accountant.
- Experience in PLC companies is mandatory.
- Experience in Import/Export companies is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax and financial regulations.
- Excellent skills in Peachtree and similar accounting software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting abilities.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism.
