Job Summary

The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Officer is responsible for managing budgeting frameworks, financial reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. The role ensures effective budget control, financial transparency, and alignment with organizational strategies while supporting program implementation and financial performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting systems
• Prepare and implement budget control policies aligned with strategic plans
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making
• Support program teams with budget monitoring and variance analysis
• Develop tools for budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting
• Lead the preparation of donor financial reports, ensuring compliance and quality
• Manage audit processes and track implementation of recommendations
• Promote cost awareness and best financial management practices
• Support the development and improvement of financial systems and processes
• Undertake special financial projects as directed by leadership

People Management

• Lead and supervise finance and support staff
• Set performance expectations, KPIs, and conduct regular evaluations
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and capacity-building support
• Strengthen team understanding of compliance, budgeting, and reporting

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or CPA are preferred
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
• At least 5 years in a senior or managerial role
• Experience in multi-donor or project-based environments preferred
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Agresso, SunSystems) and advanced Excel
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
