Job Summary
The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Officer is responsible for managing budgeting frameworks, financial reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. The role ensures effective budget control, financial transparency, and alignment with organizational strategies while supporting program implementation and financial performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting systems
- Prepare and implement budget control policies aligned with strategic plans
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making
- Support program teams with budget monitoring and variance analysis
- Develop tools for budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting
- Lead the preparation of donor financial reports, ensuring compliance and quality
- Manage audit processes and track implementation of recommendations
- Promote cost awareness and best financial management practices
- Support the development and improvement of financial systems and processes
- Undertake special financial projects as directed by leadership
People Management
- Lead and supervise finance and support staff
- Set performance expectations, KPIs, and conduct regular evaluations
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and capacity-building support
- Strengthen team understanding of compliance, budgeting, and reporting
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or CPA are preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
- At least 5 years in a senior or managerial role
- Experience in multi-donor or project-based environments preferred
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Agresso, SunSystems) and advanced Excel
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial regulations
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills

- Understanding of donor compliance and internal controls
