Job Purpose
The Senior Garment Industrial Engineer is responsible for improving production efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The role focuses on work study, line balancing, productivity improvement, and supporting smooth production flow while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct work study, time study, and method study to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Plan and implement line balancing to achieve production targets and reduce bottlenecks.
- Set Standard Minute Values (SMV) and monitor performance against standards.
- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, wastage, and improvement opportunities.
- Support production planning by improving capacity utilization and workflow.
- Collaborate with quality, production, and maintenance teams to improve overall performance.
- Lead and mentor junior industrial engineers and production supervisors.
- Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality.
- Prepare productivity, efficiency, and capacity reports for management review.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Garment Technology, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in the garment or apparel industry.
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes and production systems.
- Hands-on experience with SMV calculation, line balancing, and efficiency improvement.
