Job Summary
The Service Driver is responsible for safely transporting staff, documents, and goods between office locations, project sites, and other destinations as required. The role ensures punctual, reliable, and secure transportation services while maintaining the company vehicle in good condition. The Service Driver contributes to smooth daily operations and supports timely execution of organizational tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely drive staff and official documents to assigned locations, ensuring timely arrival.
- Maintain familiarity with Addis Ababa city routes to optimize travel time and avoid delays.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and report any issues promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper upkeep of the company vehicle.
- Assist with loading and unloading of materials, equipment, or documents as needed.
- Comply with traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational driving policies.
- Support field staff or office teams with transportation requirements for meetings, workshops, or events.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, including mileage, fuel usage, and trip records.
- Report incidents, accidents, or any vehicle-related issues immediately to the supervisor.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum education as required to hold a valid driving license.
- At least 2 years of professional driving experience in Addis Ababa, preferably in service or logistics roles.
Skills, Attitudes, and Attributes:
- Valid Driving License (ህዝብ 1)
- Strong punctuality, reliability, and responsibility
- Good knowledge of Addis Ababa city roads, traffic patterns, and alternative routes
- Ability to handle vehicle maintenance and minor troubleshooting
- High level of integrity, discipline, and professionalism
- Preference for candidates residing in Goro, Akaki-Kality, or Hayat areas for quick response to assignments
