Job Summary
The Attorney is responsible for providing legal support to the organization by handling litigation matters, conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and representing the company before courts and other judicial or quasi-judicial bodies. The role also provides legal advice to management, supports policy compliance, safeguards the company's legal interests, and contributes to the effective resolution of legal disputes.
Education
- LL.B Degree in Law; or
- Level V with COC in Law or Legal Services Management.
Experience
- 0 years of relevant work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on corporate legal issues and provide legal recommendations to management.
- Review and evaluate company policies, procedures, and manuals to identify potential legal risks and recommend improvements.
- Prepare statements of claim, statements of defense, memoranda of appeal, and other legal pleadings.
- Represent the company before courts and other judicial or quasi-judicial bodies.
- Prepare legal opinions and advice on relatively less complex legal matters.
- Represent the company during out-of-court settlement negotiations.
- Handle general case management and telecom-related legal issues.
- Study legal and regulatory challenges affecting the company and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Conduct legal research to strengthen the company's compliance with internal policies and national laws.
- Prepare legal studies, surveys, and reports to support organizational decision-making.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance the company's legal compliance and operational performance.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Ethiopian laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Legal research and analytical skills.
- Ability to draft legal documents, pleadings, and legal opinions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
