Systems Administration

The Job Summary

System Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end management, security, and integration of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role oversees data center operations, enterprise networking (LAN/WAN), server administration, cloud platforms (Microsoft 365 & Azure), and physical security systems (CCTV). The administrator ensures high availability, cybersecurity, and business continuity while supporting ERP systems and internal business applications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure & Data Center Management

• Manage and maintain physical and virtual server environments (VMware/Hyper-V), including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux environments; manage Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and GPOs.
• Design and manage backup solutions for IT systems and CCTV footage, ensuring data integrity and regular restore testing.

2. Networking & Security (LAN/WAN)

• Design and implement LAN/WAN architectures ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
• Manage firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sophos), VPNs, and secure remote access.
• Integrate networking, security, and IoT systems such as CCTV.

3. Physical Security & Surveillance (CCTV)

• Administer IP CCTV infrastructure and optimize network performance for video traffic.
• Manage backup strategies for surveillance footage and ensure compliance with retention policies.

4. Cloud & Microsoft Ecosystem

• Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and compliance features.
• Administer Azure resources including IaaS, PaaS, Azure AD (Entra ID), and Site Recovery.
• Ensure email security through spam filtering, archiving, and secure email flow management.

5. Business Applications & ERP

• Provide technical support for ERP systems, including database monitoring and user management.
• Administer internal business tools and ensure system integration and availability.

6. Server Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
• Monitor performance, manage capacity, and implement security measures.
• Handle backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

7. Development

• Develop scripts and automation tools for system administration tasks.
• Customize ERP systems and support integration with other platforms.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues within ERP environments.

About You

Qualification and Skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in system or network administration.
• Experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining networks, servers, and software systems.
• Familiarity with unified technologies and enterprise IT environments is an advantage.

Certification

• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, Azure Administrator Associate, or Fortinet NSE are highly preferred.

Technical Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and virtualization technologies.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP, VPNs, SD-WAN).
• Experience with enterprise firewalls and security principles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Acronis) and CCTV systems.
• Proficiency in network and server administration, ERP systems, and IT security practices.
