Job Summary
The Warehouse Storekeeper is responsible for the accurate and efficient management of finished goods inventory. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching products in a timely and organized manner, while ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations. Additionally, cold storage management is applied.
Responsibilities
- Warehouse Management and Inventory Handling
- Record all received and issued goods in the ERP system (Business Central) and on an Excel database, and make daily reconciliation.
- Prepare detailed movement of stock in the Excel format and perform daily traceability of materials movement.
- Identify and segregate the stock accordingly based on their batch and make them ready for shipment.
- Ensure 100% utilization of the ERP system, Business Central.
- Ensure daily stock movement is properly recorded in the system.
- Make sure all inventory balances are equal to the actual count and investigate if there is any variance.
- Daily recording of damage reports and forward weekly to finance for adjustment.
- Keep the warehouse in order and labeled as per the nature of materials.
- Segregate products that are damaged from active stock and label them accordingly.
- Ensure proper application of FIFO/FEFO principles to minimize product expiry risks.
- Pick and pack products in accordance with order requirements, maintaining cold chain integrity.
- Ensure that loading is done swiftly to avoid exposure to ambient temperatures.
- Ensure zero variance on daily transactions.
- Ensure storage space is properly utilized.
- Customer Satisfaction
- Develop strong relationships with Distribution, Sales, Agent crew, and Addis and Bishoftu Warehouse.
- Set warehouse working hours jointly with the sales and distribution team and implement.
- Continuously review warehouse ways of working to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Ensure customer complaints are addressed timely.
- Manage daily operation of the warehouse with utmost flexibility.
- Have the responsibility to report problem(s) regarding the FSMS to identified person(s).
- Good Record Keeping
- Perform shift (daily) reconciliation of system and actual stock balance.
- Ensure zero stock variance during monthly and year-end count.
Food Safety Management (FSMS)
- Ensure FSMS is implemented.
- Comply with the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies.
- Implement the Five 5 of Warehouse Management System (5S): Sorting, Set in Place, Shine, Standard, and Sustainable.
- Report to the responsible body when policies are violated or any other issues which have an impact on FSMS implementation; take actions whenever required.
Qualification
- BA degree in accounting and finance or related field of study from a recognized university.
- More than 4 years’ experience in the FMCG sector.
- Understanding of supply chain procedures (Order to Cash).
- Technical skills: Arrange the goods in order and label them.
- Computer skills (ERP system Business Central, navigating Outlook email, and Microsoft Excel).
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Good verbal and written communication in English.
