SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. The organization started its humanitarian work with the opening of its first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. The organization has been providing life-saving provisions such as food, water and health services for a very significant number of children devastated by severe drought and the subsequent famine. We are looking for a Project Officer; Health who will be responsible to provide preventive, rehabilitative and supportive health services to the Girls Empowerment project targets and play an important role in health promotion and advises on health-related issues of the project. As Project Officer, Health you will be in charge of the following: Training target group and peer educators on youth-friendly Sexual Reproductive Health and Family Planning Training selected health extension workers & health professionals on youth-friendly service delivery. Coordinating the provision of support to the existing public youth centres Providing support for public health centres (Hospitals & Health Centres) to strengthen /establish youth-friendly services. Arranging awareness-raising sessions on SRH for public secondary schools using different strategies. Arranging awareness-raising sessions for young mothers & Adolescent girls on sexual violence protective measures. Educating and guiding beneficiaries on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits Preparing, implementing and monitoring short, midterm and long-term plans on heath related services or activities. Then check out our criteria’s: The must-haves: BSC Degree in Nursing/health Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a similar field Proven experience in facilitation and community mobilization skills Technical and report writing skills Demonstrate professional conduct with children, caregivers, health institutions and Programme Coordinators. Fluent spoken and written English and Oromifa Experience in Monitoring, evaluation and reporting Good communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate Excellent communication skill Excellent organizational and planning skills Excellent Technical and report writing skills The Pluses: Prior NGO experience is advantageous
