SUCAFINA is a coffee trading house based in Switzerland with the vision of becoming the World’s leading sustainable, farm to roaster, coffee supplier by 2025.  The SUCAFINA Ethiopian Representative Office has been in operation since 2016.  Previously focused primarily upon commercial coffees, we are focused upon growing this business while shifting attention towards growing our presence in the specialty coffee market.

Summary of the Role:

Is responsible for the financial well-being of SUCAFINA Ethiopia Representative Office.

Job Description:

SUNCAFINA Ethiopia is looking for a motivated, dedicated individual to help us manage, adapt and improve our financial operations in Ethiopia.  This individual will be responsible for producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research.  Guiding managers in making sound business decisions in the long and short term.

Responsibilities:

  • Will represent SUCAFINA in all work related activities and must uphold company values.
  • Will develop clear long term goals for bettering SUCAFINA operations in Ethiopia and strategic short term plans for meeting long term objectives.
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
  • Oversee financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants
  • Coordinate the preparation/procurement of documents and payment for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.
  • Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company.
  • Research and analyze financial reports and market trends.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to managers to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
  • Present financial reports to managers, executives, and clients in formal meetings.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

 Start Date:

  • Position to begin as soon as possible.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4-years of work experience in finances.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other financial software platforms.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is a must.
  • Excellent numeric ability & analytical skills.

 Skills:

  • Displays ability to work well in a group setting with understanding of corporate hierarchy and chain of reporting.
  • Must display a forward thinking ability to analyze and propose solutions to problems that may exist in their field of work to strengthen SUCAFINA operations in Ethiopia.
  • Good communication skills are a must.
  • Must display an ability to adapt to changing work/field conditions and resourcefulness in completing sometimes challenging tasks.
  • Must remain flexible and be willing to travel to remote field sites, when required, to complete tasks in challenging settings.
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment as part of a core team building the organization from ground-up.
