Role Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial health of the company with a heavy emphasis on payroll administration for both internal staff and outsourced personnel. You will ensure 100% compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and labor proclamations.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Payroll: Manage complex payroll cycles for diverse client portfolios, ensuring accurate calculation of gross earnings, deductions, and net pay.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file monthly tax returns, including Employee Income Tax (PIT), Pension contributions, VAT, and Withholding Tax (WHT) in accordance with ERCA regulations.
• Financial Reporting: Maintain the general ledger, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L).
• Accounts Receivable/Payable: Oversee client invoicing and vendor payments, ensuring timely collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors for annual closings and ensure all financial records are audit-ready.
• Advisory: Stay updated on changes in Ethiopian financial laws and advise management on the impact of new tax or labor proclamations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience
• Legal Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Ethiopian Labor Proclamation and Tax Administration Proclamation.
