Cost Accountant Section Head

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant Section Head to lead our cost accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing, with expertise in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing production costs, improving profitability, and ensuring accurate financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costing systems for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Conduct variance analysis (material, labor, efficiency) and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead month-end closing for cost-related accounts (WIP, inventory, COGS).

• Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
• Monitor budget performance and report deviations to senior management.

• Supervise and mentor a team of cost accountants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Streamline processes for cost tracking, inventory valuation, and reporting.

• Partner with production teams to analyze product profitability and cost-saving opportunities.
• Liaise with procurement to evaluate supplier pricing and negotiate contracts.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS/local accounting standards for inventory and cost accounting.
• Prepare management reports (KPIs, cost trends, margin analysis).

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Cost Management; CMA/ACCA certification preferred.
• 5+ years in cost accounting, with 3+ years in a supervisory role (manufacturing/furniture industry highly desirable).

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Excel (pivot tables, Power Query).
• Deep understanding of activity-based costing (ABC) and inventory valuation methods.
