Job Summary
The Data Clerk is responsible for collecting, entering, managing, and maintaining accurate project data. The role supports field teams by ensuring proper documentation, database management, data verification, and timely reporting of information related to shelter construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter data from paper-based and electronic sources into databases, spreadsheets, or data management systems.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of collected data before entry.
- Collect data for each constructed shelter, including GPS coordinates.
- Update and maintain databases regularly, ensuring data is complete and free from duplication.
- Support field teams in collecting data using forms, tablets, or mobile data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox and ODK.
- Assist with printing, organizing, and distributing data collection tools.
- Support scanning, photocopying, and digitization of physical records when required.
- Generate basic reports, summaries, and charts from collected data.
- Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for easy access and reference.
- Ensure timely submission of data to relevant teams and authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Information Management, ICT, Office Administration, or related fields is an advantage.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in data entry, record keeping, or administrative roles.
- Experience working with NGOs or community-based programs is an added advantage.
Additional Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with local building regulations and the Gambella region is an advantage.
