Job Summary
The Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical standards, hospital policies, and professional ethics. The role involves assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' health conditions and record medical histories and vital signs.
- Provide direct nursing care, including administering medications, injections, intravenous therapies, and prescribed treatments.
- Monitor patients' conditions and promptly report any changes to physicians or senior medical staff.
- Assist physicians during medical examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication usage, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records and nursing documentation.
- Ensure proper infection prevention and control practices are followed at all times.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or life-saving interventions when necessary.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, referrals, and discharges.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, laboratory staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards of care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid professional nursing license issued by the appropriate regulatory authority.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in hospitals, clinics, healthcare centers, or specialty care units is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care standards, and infection prevention protocols.
- Ability to administer medications and perform nursing procedures safely and accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered, and service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and night duties when required.
