Job Description

The Design Group – Civil Works Design Architect is responsible for leading architectural and civil coordination activities for telecom rollout projects including tower construction, shelter installation, and network infrastructure expansion. The role involves structure and layout design, technical solution alignment, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with telecom operator standards and local authority regulations. The position also contributes to cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational performance and project delivery efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Compile, maintain, and log baseline Bills of Quantities (BoQs), technical drawings, and site dossier records.
• Prepare, revise, and update detailed architectural, structural, and layout drawings including layouts, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD.
• Perform initial reviews of design drafts against local municipal building codes and telecom civil work standards.
• Verify architectural compliance with telecom operator standards and project specifications.
• Manage telecom civil works design lifecycle activities from planning to project handover.
• Review foundation layouts and shelter positioning for telecom infrastructure projects.
• Participate in site acceptance testing and project handover activities.
• Evaluate contractor performance and work quality during project implementation.
• Support cost optimization initiatives and efficient utilization of project resources.
• Design equipment room layouts and cable routing pathways.
• Ensure proper ventilation, safety access, equipment spacing, and operational efficiency.
• Design physical floor plans, equipment layouts, and spatial allocations for core sites, data centers, and switching centers.
• Analyze and validate structural foundations and rooftop load capacities for telecom equipment installations.
• Convert radio frequency (RF) and transmission network requirements into practical infrastructure layouts.
• Establish technical specifications for fire-rated doors, anti-static raised flooring, insulation systems, and weatherproofing materials.
• Coordinate rooftop and tower infrastructure planning activities.
• Develop as-built drawings after project completion.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project progress updates.
• Support project administration, scheduling, monitoring, and control activities.
• Assist in contract execution control and coordination with stakeholders.

Job Requirements

• Qualification: BSc Degree in Architecture or Architecture and Planning field of studies.

• Experience: Graduated since 2015 E.C with zero years of previous work experience. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Required Skills: Excellent skills in 3D modeling, rendering, and presentation, strong knowledge of AutoCAD and architectural drafting tools, understanding of engineering and architectural concepts, project scheduling and coordination ability, problem-solving skills, communication and teamwork skills, ability to take decisions, and knowledge of building sector standards and maintenance practices.
