3iS is a non-profit organization providing information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations and support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities in internal data and information management activities.
Scope of Work
3iS is seeking a Design Officer to support our efforts in creating visually engaging and impactful content. The Design Officer will focus on:
- Video editing for training materials
- Infographic design
- Using generative AI to produce images and video clips
Main Responsibilities
1. Video Editing:
- Edit high-quality videos for training materials, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Add graphics, animations, and subtitles to enhance video content.
- Utilize generative AI tools to create video clips and enhance production workflows.
- Manage and organize video assets for easy access and reuse.
2. Infographic Design:
- Create visually compelling infographics to summarize complex information.
- Develop design templates for recurring projects to maintain brand consistency.
- Collaborate with program teams to visually represent key data and insights.
3. Generative AI Integration:
- Use generative AI tools to produce high-quality images and short video clips.
- Stay updated on advancements in generative AI for design purposes.
- Innovate workflows by combining traditional design approaches with generative AI capabilities.
4. Content Development:
- Design visual materials for presentations, reports, and promotional content.
- Contribute to the creation of newsletters, brochures, and banners.
- Ensure all visual outputs adhere to 3iS’s branding guidelines.
5. Capacity Building:
- Train staff in basic design principles and tools to enhance internal content creation capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- A degree or certification in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in video editing and graphic design.
- Proven track record of creating training materials and infographics.
- Experience using generative AI tools for image or video creation is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Expertise in graphic design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., MidJourney, Runway, DALL·E) for design and video enhancement.
- Familiarity with animation tools is a plus.

- Strong visual storytelling skills.
- Ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, engaging designs.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in exploring innovative tools to improve design workflows.
Language
- English (fluent) – essential
- Amharic (fluent) – essential
