Job Summary
The Environmental Health Officer ensures the hospital environment meets health, safety, and sanitation standards. The role focuses on infection prevention, waste management, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with hospital environmental health and safety standards.
- Oversee waste segregation, disposal, and infection-control practices.
- Conduct routine inspections of wards, kitchens, sanitation areas, and water systems.
- Report environmental hazards and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support training for staff on hygiene, safety practices, and waste management.
- Work closely with infection prevention teams to maintain a safe patient environment.
- Document inspection reports, incidents, and compliance activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health or related field.
- At least 1+ year experience in environmental health (preferably in a healthcare setting).
- Knowledge of sanitation, waste management, and infection control standards.
Skills
