Job Summary
Working under the direction of the Associate Director, Projects and Programs, you will be responsible for the development of hormonal IUD social and behavior change (SBC) strategies and materials. This role includes providing technical assistance to the Associate Director for overall project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop hormonal IUD Costed Introduction Plan (CIP) and update national monitoring and logistics systems.
- Lead SBC activities and contribute knowledge products through reports and technical materials.
- Support business development efforts as opportunities arise.
Accountabilities
Technical Requirements
- Provide technical leadership and support for the development and dissemination of HIUD SBC materials.
- Support Costed Introduction Plan development and updating national monitoring systems.
- Ensure project implementation adheres to company strategy and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Develop technical briefs, reports, and other necessary materials for project reporting.
- Assist with implementing components of the technical project plan.
- Monitor technical work plans and budgets.
- Participate in client/funder meetings and draft reports/presentations.
Project Design Implementation
- Develop strategies and tools for the design and implementation of technical components.
- Monitor project deliverables and report to the supervisor.
- Lead technical project activities and assist with implementation.
- Implement SBC components of the project workplan.
- Identify and raise issues to senior technical staff.
Business Development and Client/Funder Support
- Participate in business development as opportunities arise.
Operations Management (Finance, HR, etc.)
- Ensure project activities are on track with work plans.
- Oversee project timelines and budgets.
- Assist in the development of donor reports and presentations.
- Collect financial and technical tracking data; prepare reports.
Project/Program Reporting
- Prepare reports and papers summarizing project results.
- Establish and maintain SOW and budget tracking systems.
- Draft client technical reports.
- Create technical content (e.g., SBC materials, reports, presentations).

- Strong understanding of health priorities within Ethiopia, focusing on family planning.
- In-depth knowledge of SBC strategies and materials development.

Supervision Given/Received

Qualification
- Master’s Degree, or its international equivalent in public health or a related field.
- Requires at least 6 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility in SBC technical assistance.
Key experiences include:
- Working in a non-governmental organization (NGO)
- Developing SBC materials
- Experience in the family planning sector in Ethiopia, with preferred experience in the hormonal IUD
- Prior experience with FHI 360 systems and procedures is preferred
