Job Summary
The Field Coordinator will coordinate the implementation of the Operation Sight Accelerated TT Backlog Clearance in different woredas of Sidama region and Hadiya Zone of SNNPRS. The role also involves coordinating activities related to the Trachoma SAFE strategy.
Essential Job Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Field Coordinator will carry out the following duties:
- Lead implementation of Operation Sight accelerated TT backlog clearance project in Gurage Zone
- Work closely with Project Manager and health offices to ensure project targets are met on time
- Develop woreda-based TT surgery plans and coordinate delivery of quality services
- Ensure TT backlog clearance in targeted woredas
- Mobilize trained IECW for outreach and TT surgery services
- Conduct supportive supervision and quality assurance interventions
- Coordinate TT case finding activities in the implementation area
- Ensure TT surgery services are implemented in all prevalent woredas
- Maintain communication with eye care workers and health sectors
- Organize review meetings with health offices and stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with partners, communities, and stakeholders
- Plan and implement TT surgery services with IECWs and health institutions
- Support training activities for IECWs, HEWs, CHAs, and other stakeholders
- Facilitate coordination between zones, woredas, and Orbis Ethiopia
- Prepare case studies and submit reports to the Project Manager
- Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly plans with partners
- Prepare training and progress reports as required
- Participate in evaluations and meetings
- Maintain records, reports, and baseline data
- Monitor resource utilization and reporting by partners
- Handle petty cash and ensure proper settlement
- Support HR and administrative reporting requirements
- Follow up supply documentation and reporting
- Ensure proper use and protection of organizational resources
- Comply with fleet and security protocols
- Follow up vehicle maintenance and servicing
- Ensure office utilities and bills are properly managed
- Support staff safety and security measures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
About You
Qualifications & Experience
- MPH or B.Sc. degree in Public Health, Ophthalmic Officer, or related health fields with at least 4 years of experience
- At least one year of experience in eye care program implementation and service delivery
- Experience in blindness prevention, trachoma, or preventive ophthalmology is an advantage
- Knowledge of local language of the project area is an asset
