Job Summary
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and accounting standards. The role assists with budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and other day-to-day finance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and journal entries.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform bank, cash, and account reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist in budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.
- Maintain proper financial documentation and filing systems.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and statutory requirements.
- Support payroll processing and statutory tax filings.
- Assist during internal and external audits by providing required financial records.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Junior and mid-level applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Relevant experience in accounting or finance is an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and financial procedures is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
