Job Description
On behalf of our client, GeezJobs is recruiting for a well-established creative hub based in Addis Ababa that has played a significant role in strengthening Ethiopia’s creative ecosystem for over four years.
The hub operates as a dynamic center for designers, artists, innovators, and creative SMEs, contributing to the city’s cultural and entrepreneurial development. It offers state-of-the-art facilities, including co-working spaces, a digital library, rapid prototyping labs (3D printing), mock-up labs, and event spaces. In addition, the hub delivers comprehensive capacity-building programs such as technical trainings, innovation seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and networking events aimed at fostering innovation and strengthening linkages between creatives, industry, and government.
Position Objective
The Hub Manager serves as the strategic and operational leader of the Creative Hub (Addis Ababa Branch). The role is responsible for overall management, program development, stakeholder engagement, financial sustainability, and day-to-day operations. The Hub Manager will ensure the hub remains a vibrant, impactful, and sustainable platform that supports the growth of Ethiopia’s creative industries.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
A. Strategic Leadership & Program Development
- Develop and implement annual strategic plans and activity calendars aligned with the hub’s vision and partnership frameworks
- Design, coordinate, and oversee programs including trainings, workshops, incubation cycles, networking events, exhibitions, and seminars
- Continuously improve and innovate services to respond to the evolving needs of the creative community
B. Operations & Facility Management
- Ensure safe, efficient, and smooth daily operations of all hub facilities
- Oversee maintenance, procurement, and inventory of equipment, software, and supplies
- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and usage guidelines
- Manage membership systems, space bookings, and lab service requests
C. Community Building & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary representative and ambassador of the hub
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and engaged creative community
- Maintain and strengthen partnerships with government institutions, educational institutions, private sector partners, donors, and international organizations
- Represent the hub at conferences, forums, and media engagements
D. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise hub staff, including coordinators, technicians, administrative personnel, and interns
- Ensure timely and accurate operational, financial, and programmatic reporting to management and partners
E. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Establish monitoring and evaluation systems to assess program impact
- Collect data, success stories, and performance metrics
- Prepare narrative and financial reports in line with donor and partner requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Arts Management, Design, Development Studies, or a related field
- A Bachelor’s degree with exceptional and relevant experience may be considered
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience, with at least 1 year in a management role
- Experience managing a co-working space, innovation hub, creative center, or similar facility is highly desirable
- Proven experience in program development, event management, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s creative industries
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, financial management, and budgeting
- Experience working with donor-funded projects, government institutions, or international organizations is an advantage
