Description
- ENAB is the first organization for people with disabilities in Ethiopia, working for over 65 years to realize the rights of individuals with visual impairments. The organization collaborates with many local and international entities.
- ENAB is announcing a vacant position for Junior Project Officer and seeks competent applicants.
Location: Head office (Addis Ababa)
Salary: 14,950.00 transport allowance, 1,500.00 communication allowance, 1,000.00
Contract Duration
- One-year contract with possible extension based on fund availability and performance.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with regular field visits.
- Occasional weekend or evening hours depending on project needs.
Job Purpose
- Provide professional and administrative support to the Inclusive Education Coordinator, who has a visual impairment, by reading materials, writing reports, and accompanying the coordinator to meetings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read aloud printed documents, reports, emails, and academic materials to the coordinator.
- Write or type documents, reports, and official letters as guided by the coordinator.
- Support email communication and file management using digital tools.
- Accompany the coordinator to meetings and provide reading/writing assistance.
- Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations and written content for trainings.
- Organize, print, and scan documents as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks.
- Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with the coordinator and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualification
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education, Social Work, or related fields.
- Minimum of 1 year experience.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities is desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication skills in Amharic and English (written and verbal).
- Excellent typing, note-taking, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet browsing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Trustworthy, patient, empathetic, and respectful.
- Willingness to accompany the coordinator during external engagements.
- Sensitivity to issues of disability inclusion, particularly visual impairment.
