Role Overview
Please note that this role is field-based in Hawassa.
Position Summary
This manager leads a team of Partnership Facilitators that serve the church partners by:
- Strengthening local ownership
- Building capacity and resources of church partners
- Ministering to children and youth in their own context
The primary purpose of this position is to provide direction through subordinate managers and staff, including:
- Hiring, discipline, and termination
- Coaching and performance management
- Assigning, checking, and approving work
Responsibilities
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness.
- Act as an advocate to raise awareness of children's needs and prioritize child protection.
- Provide leadership and development to direct reports.
- Contribute to or prepare and administer the annual budget.
- Select, manage, and develop assigned staff.
- Lead direct reports to be effective church-facing teams.
- Empower staff to respond to church needs and prioritize work.
- Demonstrate commitment to serve and respect the church.
- Lead staff to build church ownership and resources.
- Monitor progress toward youth and church outcomes.
- Manage application of the Partner Maturation Model.
- Develop a team that advocates for church needs.
- Manage team collaboration with Program Support.
- Lead team accountability for Compassion commitments.
- Model effective collaboration with Program Support.
- Ensure understanding of child protection implications.

Culture
Accountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion's core "Cultural Behaviors" in all communication and relationships.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies or a related field.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in this or a related field.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.
- Equivalent education, training, and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above.
Working Environment
Office – Standard Office Environment.
Physical Demands
Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day.
Travel Requirements
May be required to travel at least 25% of the normal schedule.
