Sr. Accountant

Job Summary

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will:

• Handle financial operations and ensure compliance with regulations
• Provide accurate reporting to support management decisions
• Have prior experience in the import and export sector

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT, withholding, and income tax
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
• Work closely with management to support financial planning and decision-making
• Liaise with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders
• Provide support in import and export documentation, costing, and transaction recording

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years proven accounting experience
• Experience in the import and export industry is preferred
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree, ERP, or similar)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
