Job Summary
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will:
- Handle financial operations and ensure compliance with regulations
- Provide accurate reporting to support management decisions
- Have prior experience in the import and export sector
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT, withholding, and income tax
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Work closely with management to support financial planning and decision-making
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Provide support in import and export documentation, costing, and transaction recording
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years proven accounting experience
- Experience in the import and export industry is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree, ERP, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
