Responsibilities
The purpose of the position is to provide day-to-day monitoring and evaluation support to the Area programme.
Generic Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, operational handbooks, and guidelines.
- Implement delegated Core Competence project portfolio according to the plan of action.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing and management of project documents.
- Ensure that projects target the most in-need population and explore new ways of providing assistance.
- Promote and share ideas for programming improvement.
Specific Responsibilities
- Work closely with core competencies, mainly with WASH and SIP/Protection teams to manage information for MEAL-related reports.
- Conduct and support frequent surveys for monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Engage in the preparation of project evaluations and draft appropriate reports.
- Responsible for the establishment and management of a database and monitoring system.
- Provide technical guidance and training to program staff in project documentation.
- Responsible for data analysis and compilation of program data and reports.
- Maintain and update the country programme MEAL database.
- Support in the development of MEAL tools as required.
- Support collection and maintenance of geographic baseline and thematic data.
- Research and retrieve data from internal and external sources; prepare statistical charts and reports.
- Responsible for production of maps and other geographic information in coordination with stakeholders.
- Liaise with United Nations agencies and other humanitarian partners to ensure information is available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Monitoring & Evaluation field in a humanitarian context.
- Experience with principles and approaches to monitoring and evaluation in emergency response.
- Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Knowledge of the humanitarian context in the Somali Region is required.
- Data collection and analytical skills.
- Good use of Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
