Neck Ring Repairer

Job Summary:

DEDE Bottle Factory PLC is an emerging bottle manufacturer dedicated to high-quality, sustainable production. Located in Debre Birhan, with a contact office in Addis Ababa, the facility is in its advanced project phase. The Neck Ring Repairer is responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of glass bottle production by inspecting, repairing, and maintaining neck ring components used in shaping bottle necks with precision and consistency. The role helps minimize defects, extends equipment lifespan, and supports smooth production operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of neck ring sets to identify wear, damage, and defects.
• Perform precision mechanical repairs, replacements, and alignment adjustments on neck rings.
• Clean, lubricate, and prepare neck rings for reinstallation to maintain smooth operation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of neck ring components.
• Recondition worn neck rings using workshop machining techniques when necessary.
• Assemble and disassemble neck ring components using appropriate hand tools and ensure proper fitting and alignment within mold setups.
• Work closely with forming operators and mold repairers to resolve neck ring-related production issues.
• Monitor neck ring performance during production cycles and suggest improvements.
• Analyze bottle neck defects caused by faulty neck rings and determine corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and adjustments performed.
• Update neck ring history records to track usage and service life.
• Adhere to safety protocols while handling high-temperature components in glass bottle production.
• Follow factory guidelines for workplace hazards and emergency response procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education

• BSc degree or TVET Level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Training

• Training in neck ring maintenance and alignment techniques, safe handling of high-temperature components, fundamentals of the glass forming process, and preventive maintenance methodologies.

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in glass bottle production processes, mold and tooling repair, workshop machining, and precision fitting.
