Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Office Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual early in their career to gain hands-on experience in construction project management and administration. The Office Engineer will provide essential support to the project managers and field teams, ensuring smooth project operations and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize project documentation, including bid submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, drawings, specifications, and daily reports. Ensure all documents are current, properly filed, and accessible.
- Assist in the preparation, tracking, and expediting of project update/report submittals to ensure timely approvals.
- Coordinate the RFI process, including drafting, tracking, and distributing responses to relevant parties.
- Attend project meetings, take minutes, and distribute them to team members.
- Support the project team in developing and updating project schedules, tracking progress, and identifying potential delays.
- Assist in maintaining quality control documentation and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Help maintain site safety records and documentation, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist with basic cost tracking and reporting, including collecting and verifying invoices and timesheets.
- Facilitate clear and timely communication between project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Regularly visit project sites to observe progress, gather data and other relevant information, and assist field personnel.
- Provide general administrative support to the project team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0-1 years of experience in a construction-related role.
- Basic understanding of construction processes, terminology, and project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with construction-related software such as AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
