Job Summary
Under the close supervision and support of the Site Plant Manager, the Production Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the overall operations from raw salt reception to iodized salt packaging, evaluates the performance of the work unit, investigates problems, and takes timely corrective action to make adjustments. The Production Manager also generates new operating methods, ensures their effectiveness, prepares, and submits reports to the work unit on the development of work standards and operational systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate and supervise daily production activities.
- Ensure that product quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Prepare a work plan that takes into account the organization's long-term and short-term plans.
- Work collaboratively with various departments to achieve product goals.
- Monitor production efficiency, design operational strategies that improve production capacity at low cost, and propose appropriate improvements to the production process.
- Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures.
- Control the waste of products that come into contact with the production process.
- Check laboratory test results against the established quality standards and make adjustments if there are any discrepancies.
- Ensure a smooth and uninterrupted production process by visiting production facilities, equipment, and employees frequently.
- Ensure that the inputs required for the production process are available in sufficient quantities, submitting purchase requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure that any records, manuals, software, data, statistics, studies, plans, programs, and other external documents are properly maintained in accordance with the records management system.
- Conduct detailed studies on how new production methods can be implemented.
- Liaise with the technical team to discuss equipment maintenance, prioritize problems, and find solutions together.
- Ensure and monitor the proper use of human and other resources allocated in accordance with the annual plan.
- Develop occupational safety standards and guidelines, ensure that safety equipment is functioning properly, and that occupational safety laws are being implemented properly.
- Ensure that the organization's environmental safety policy is being properly implemented, coordinate, and monitor its implementation.
- Provide timely and varied reports to the factory manager and other relevant departments.
- Also perform other related tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Technology and Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of production/plant management experience in salt production, mineral processing, food processing, or similar heavy manufacturing environment; 3-5+ years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of salt production processes (evaporation, crystallization, drying, milling, packing) is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of quality systems (HACCP, ISO 9001) and occupational health & safety standards.
- Proven track record in process optimization, cost control, and team leadership.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning, mechanical equipment, and basic electrical systems.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP/MES systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local language(s) preferred.

- Knowledgeable in salt processing/food industry.
- Has sufficient understanding of the organization's policies.
- Ability to coordinate and lead a team.
