ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT:
This job is in the Country Office (CO). The job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or the designate.
At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.
JOB PURPOSE:
To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
- Assist in anomaly detection, reconciliation, de-duplication, adjudication, and verification of beneficiary data across all activities.
- Support consolidation, cleaning, and reconciliation of CBT datasets (including PAF and FSP reports) and flag discrepancies for corrective action.
- Assist in follow-up with Area Offices, Sub-Offices, programme teams, and TEC on identified data quality issues.
- Maintain accurate, verified, and auditable digital data trails for operational and reporting purposes.
- Support preparation and dissemination of the Monthly Data Assurance Report for programme activities.
- Support automation of recurring data processing, validation, and reporting tasks to improve time efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Assist in ad-hoc data analysis and preparation of customized reports, dashboards, and summaries.
- Assist in reviewing SCOPE data across activities to assess completeness, accuracy, and relevance.
- Support data cleaning and data retention exercises based on agreed criteria and timelines.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with digital security protocols, data protection and privacy policies for beneficiary information management.
- Assist in the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data assurance.
- Undertake field missions and duty travel as required to support registration and distribution activities, ensuring smooth execution on-site.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
- Has facilitated communication with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
- Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
- Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the areas of team coordination, data analysis, data protection, data collection, management of databases, field assessments as well as monitoring and evaluation. Previous experience and familiarity with WFP’s beneficiary registration system (SCOPE) is an asset
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Amharic.
