Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile, high-energy, and results-driven Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our team in Addis Ababa. This dual-role position requires a professional who can seamlessly manage internal office operations and walk-in customer service, while proactively driving business growth through strategic corporate field sales, B2B client acquisition, and relationship management
Key Responsibilities
- Actively identify and visit potential business clients (importers, exporters, e-commerce businesses, and corporate offices) in Addis Ababa to promote Marathon Express services.
- Pitch our specialized Dubai-to-Addis Ababa cargo/courier solutions, air freight, and land freight services to secure new accounts.
- Meet sales targets by converting prospects into active customers and maintaining a healthy pipeline of new business.
- Gather insights on competitor pricing, market trends, and customer needs to help optimize our service offerings.
- Warmly welcome walk-in customers, handle inquiries, and provide accurate information regarding shipping rates, transit times, and customs requirements.
- Handle incoming calls and emails, prepare shipping labels, calculate weights/rates, and accurately enter shipment data into the system.
- Track shipments, provide real-time updates to clients, and proactively resolve any delivery discrepancies or customer complaints.
- Coordinate closely with the warehouse, customs clearance team, and last-mile delivery couriers to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or operations, ideally within the logistics, courier, or freight forwarding industry.
- Female Candidates ONLY
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills for outdoor sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Amharic and English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and adaptability to logistics tracking systems.
- Attributes: Highly self-motivated, resilient, comfortable with field/outdoor work, and possessing a customer-first mindset.
