Organizational Context:
These jobs are found in Gode sub office. Job holders report to the Head of Security Unit/Head of Sub Office or designate. At this level, job holders are expected to take responsibility for the completion of a range of security-related processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action on a range of security issues, deal with staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other colleagues. These jobs may require working different shifts and reporting for duty on short notice.
Job Purpose:
To perform a range of specialized and process-oriented responsibilities related to security operations including monitoring and maintaining security equipment in line with established procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in reviewing security threats and risks and compile accurate reports on trends and situations affecting WFP operations.
- Review security-related information and use information management tools to provide basic analysis and reports.
- Liaise and coordinate with local authorities, law enforcement, communities, UN/NGO security staff, and other actors to ensure safe program delivery.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting field missions including staff tracking and security assessments.
- Prepare weekly and ad hoc security assessment reports with risk mitigation recommendations.
- Support advice to the Country Director on security risk management in line with UNSMS guidelines.
- Assist in implementation of security risk management measures including Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS).
- Assist in managing and maintaining security equipment and identifying new requirements.
- Monitor access control procedures to ensure compliance by staff and visitors.
- Support emergency and contingency planning documentation and procedures.
- Assist in identifying security training needs and support training implementation.
- Supervise and provide on-the-job training to junior staff.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum completion of secondary school education.
- A first-level university degree is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in security-related roles.
