Job Summary:
The Database Administrator is responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing database systems that power travel-related applications and platforms. The role focuses on SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments and supports systems used in reservations, finance, and operational reporting. Experience in travel-industry platforms or ERP systems is important to ensure data reliability, performance, and availability in a high-volume, transaction-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
- Ensure database availability, performance, security, and data integrity.
- Support travel-related systems, including booking, finance, and reporting platforms.
- Perform database backups, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot database issues and support application teams.
- Manage data integrations between core systems and third-party platforms.
- Support reporting and analytics requirements for business and operations teams.
- Maintain documentation for database architecture, procedures, and changes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Experience supporting travel industry systems
- Solid SQL, performance tuning, backup, and recovery skills
- Exposure to Agresso, Travcom, NetSuite, or GDS platforms (preferred)
- Ability to support integrations, reporting, and high-volume transactional data
