Job Summary
The Civil / Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting effective credit decision-making by conducting property valuations for collateral, foreclosure, and project financing. The role also oversees office construction, renovation, branch expansion, cost estimation, project supervision, and technical evaluations to ensure high-quality, cost-effective infrastructure development in accordance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits and prepare property valuations for collateral, foreclosure, and project financing purposes.
- Prepare and submit valuation reports in accordance with internal property valuation guidelines.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and technical specifications for construction and renovation works.
- Prepare project status reports for properties financed, pledged as collateral, or held as guarantees.
- Monitor zoning regulations and assess their impact on property valuations.
- Recommend improvements to property valuation guidelines to ensure consistency and fairness.
- Prepare project cost estimates and evaluate remaining construction work for project financing.
- Conduct market surveys on construction material prices and labor costs.
- Prepare office layouts, branch designs, and drawings for new branches and office modifications.
- Prepare BOQs and specifications for renovation, branch opening, and office modification projects.
- Conduct bid evaluations and recommend suitable contractors for construction and renovation works.
- Conduct site assessments and support land acquisition for new office construction projects.
- Carry out pre-feasibility studies for new building construction projects.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure projects are completed according to approved plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Prepare Terms of Reference (TOR) for consultant selection and participate in evaluation processes.
- Review architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs and participate in contractor selection.
- Review construction contracts, design supervision documents, and contract administration reports.
- Review and verify contractor payment requests for construction, maintenance, and renovation projects.
- Monitor the production and installation of counters, sign boxes, and other standard facilities.
- Provide technical advice during branch site selection and office expansion activities.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction project management and property valuation.
- Experience in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of engineering design principles and construction supervision.
- Experience in contractor evaluation, bid analysis, and contract administration.
- Good understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and market analysis.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
