About the role:

Under close supervision of the Design Director, to which he/she is assigned, selects materials, components, tools and equipment; designs mechanical parts and components, performs quality controls activities, and erection activities in projects. He/she undertakes mechanical design and consultancy work including system design, production, specification, and schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize with company plans, work schedules, goals, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Identify internal and external customers, understand their needs, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with and oversee engineers, junior engineers, and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain awareness of quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Plan, organize, and execute work assignments as directed by the supervisor.
  • Establish performance standards, specifications, and best practices for subordinates.
  • Determine and procure necessary tools, equipment, materials, and resources for task completion.
  • Select appropriate materials, components, tools, and equipment for projects.
  • Assess site conditions and provide input for design, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimation.
  • Design small to medium mechanical components and support complex project designs.
  • Assist in developing practical designs for large-scale or technically demanding projects.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Optimize designs during installation when necessary.
  • Prepare detailed design reports.
  • Prepare monthly, interim, and annual reports
  • Conduct inspections and quality control activities for projects.
  • Analyze project outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and apply lessons learned to future projects.
  • Develop and update material and labor cost estimates, including machinery and equipment rental rates.
  • Organize and maintain performance databases for machinery, equipment, and labor efficiency.
  • Prepare specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates for projects.
  • Assist in developing methodologies and drafting technical and financial proposals.
  • Collaborate with team members, clients, and main contractors during project commissioning.
  • Ensure proper care, utilization, and management of assigned resources.
  • Communicate requirements and feedback to internal suppliers and incorporate received feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Candidate requirements:

  • BSc degree in mechanical engineering
  • At least six years of relevant experience in an electromechanical company.
