Job Summary
The Store Keeper is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. The role ensures accurate inventory records, proper stock control, timely availability of materials, and efficient store operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and inventory management procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against delivery documents.
- Store materials safely and systematically in designated storage locations.
- Issue materials based on approved requisitions and maintain accurate issuance records.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records and stock bin cards.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, excess stock, or damaged items.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
- Prepare inventory and stock movement reports.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of the store.
- Coordinate with procurement and user departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Maintain proper documentation for goods received, issued, transferred, and returned.
- Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and safety procedures.
- Perform other store management duties assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Qualifications
- BA Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Competency Certificate is required.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience as a Store Keeper or in a similar inventory management role.
- Previous experience as a Store Keeper is an advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Good knowledge of inventory management and storekeeping procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational and inventory record-keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
