Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the System and Technical Support Supervisor, the Stores and IT Support Officer is responsible for managing the storage, movement, and inventory of consumables, IT equipment, and other materials while providing technical support for IT-related activities. The role ensures efficient store operations, accurate inventory records, safe material handling, and assistance with IT support tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations
- Receive and offload inbound materials from containers, trucks, or pickups upon arrival.
- Inspect and verify all incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and condition.
- Report damaged or missing items immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by updating stock bin cards after every transaction.
- Prepare and maintain inventory documentation, including issue vouchers, receiving vouchers, and stock movement records.
- Prepare material transfer documents and dispatch materials to project sites as requested.
- Stack and store materials safely in designated storage locations.
- Ensure daily store operations are conducted efficiently without unnecessary delays.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure store environment.
- Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when authorized and required.
- Keep work areas free of debris and eliminate potential safety hazards.
- Report workplace accidents or incidents immediately to the project supervisor.
IT Support
- Provide basic IT support for project teams as assigned.
- Assist with hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Support the installation and relocation of IT equipment when required.
- Assist in maintaining IT inventory and equipment records.
- Perform other IT support duties assigned by the System and Technical Support Supervisor.
Academic Qualifications
- Diploma in Information Technology (IT) or a Certificate in Hardware Technician from a recognized institution.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in store operations, inventory management, IT support, or a related role.
- Good understanding of mini-store or warehouse operations.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely handle and store materials.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
