Support Services Team Leader Position

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Support Services Team Leader for our operations in Dollo Ado Field Office, Somali.

About the Job

Under the direct supervision of the Area Manager, the Support Services Team Leader provides management support to DRC field operations by:

  • Providing line management and leadership to support staff
  • Leading the development and implementation of effective systems for each department/unit
  • Participating in the amendment and implementation of the Safety Protocol
  • Ensuring compliance with DRC’s operations handbook and donor policies
  • Managing people management of employees in support services

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Finance (50%)

  • Ensuring high-quality day-to-day accounting of the field office's spending
  • Overseeing program spending and maintaining the field office’s cash forecast
  • Maintaining a system for accruals and outstanding payments
  • Formulating a Master Budget for the area office
  • Leading monthly financial review meetings with budget holders

Human Resources (30%)

  • Tracking staff attendance and leave requests
  • Conducting recruitments and drafting contracts
  • Planning and delivering inductions for new staff

Administration (10%)

  • Managing leases at the field level
  • Ensuring timely payment of utilities
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for field staff

Supply Chain (10%)

  • Implementing and managing Supply Chain systems
  • Monitoring procurement procedures for compliance
  • Supporting program teams in procurement planning

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in Support Services functions
  • Proven management skills and competence in people management
  • Sound knowledge of cost planning and budgeting
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Accounting, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Language

Fluent in written and spoken English.
