Keste Damena (KD ) is a Private Limited Company that started producing polyurethane foam in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia over 25 years ago. KD is engaged in two main business structures. The first area extends mainly towards mattresses, beds and all bedding accessories. The second area of the KD enterprise focuses on sofas and chairs, desks, kitchen cabinets, bed frames, home décor, ceramics and home lighting fixtures and much more. An exciting vacant position has arisen at Kestedamena foam and Plastic PLC - Ethiopia for the role of Technical Manager.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Factory Manager, plans, directs coordinates, controls and executes the technical function of the company; ensures that spare parts and other materials required for Electrical & Mechanical maintenance and upkeep of plant machinery and equipment are fulfilled adequately and in a timely manner; ensures that maintenance is carried out efficiently; evaluates the maintenance activities and takes corrective actions as appropriate..
Technical manager Responsibilities
- Delegate tasks and achieve the daily, weekly, and monthly task goals.
- Determine all the project requirements while significantly developing work schedules for the team.
- Identify potential risks and form contingency plans as fast as possible.
- Efficiently liaise with the team members, clients, and also the management. This is to ensure that the projects are completed by maintaining a significant standard.
- Keep up with the latest industry trends and developments.
- Significantly analyze all the existing operations and schedule the existing training sessions. Also, organize and hold meetings to discuss scopes of improvements.
- Motivate all staff members and essentially create a space that acts like an inquiry zone. Here the staff members can ask concerning questions and also voice their concerns.
- Update work schedules and perform troubleshooting as and when required.
- Write progress reports efficiently and deliver presentations to all the relevant stakeholders.
- Be transparent with the entire team regarding challenges, failures, and successes as well.
Technical Manager Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with 6 years of experience.
- Remarkable technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- A significant experience in a foam factory or any similar role is likely to be beneficial.
- Willing to build a professional relationship with clients and staff.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

Duty Station: Dukem, Ethiopia.
