Job Summary
The General Maintenance Technician ensures the hospital's facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are functioning safely and efficiently. The role involves routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and basic construction systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of hospital equipment and building systems.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests from departments.
- Support installation and maintenance of HVAC, generators, and water systems.
- Maintain logs of repairs, safety checks, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure safety compliance and minimal disruption to hospital operations.
- Assist external contractors and vendors when necessary.
Qualifications
- Certificate, diploma, or technical training in maintenance, electricity, plumbing, or related fields.
- Minimum 1+ year of general maintenance experience (hospital experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of safety standards and emergency response procedures.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent technical issues.
