What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be trained to provide essential support for our core banking systems, ensuring smooth operations for Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs). This involves:
- Understanding system functionalities
- Assisting users
- Troubleshooting issues
- Contributing to the overall efficiency of financial services
Who We're Looking For:
We're seeking a motivated individual with a foundational understanding and eagerness to learn in the following areas:
- Core Banking Systems: A basic grasp of what core banking systems are and their role in financial institutions (e.g., managing accounts, transactions, loans, ledger accounts, etc.) is a plus.
- Accounting Principles: Familiarity with basic accounting concepts will be highly beneficial for understanding financial data within the core banking system.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computers, including common software applications (browsers), and a readiness to learn new software quickly.
- Language Proficiency:
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Proficiency in Amharic is required.
- Knowledge of other local Ethiopian languages (Affan Oromo, Aff Solmai, Tigrigna, etc.) will be a significant advantage!
Plus Points if You Have:
- Prior exposure to or understanding of SACCO operations and related business models.
- Experience in the microfinance sector.
- A strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
