Job Description

Main Responsibilities

Prepares documents and forms to move goods efficiently through import and export steps and procedures and Reviews paperwork and documents to ensure shipping, handling, storage charges, and customs fees are billed correctly.

Responsibilities/ job description

• Candidate must have full knowledge of import and export procedures
• Responsible for Facilitating, Checking and validating supplier pro-forma invoices and foreign purchases under TT/LC/CAD.
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining relationships with all ocean, air, and consolidator /booking agents to ensure accountability and proactive handling of the supply chain;
• Following up with foreign vendors for complete shipping documents before shipment arrivals.
• Monitoring the export process from Ethiopia to all over the world, African regions, including all documentation and dealing with forwarders.
• Tracking of original shipping documents, making sure that freight forwarder gets original documents before the consignment arrival at port/Airport
• Process pay orders for customs duties & taxes and other import-related payments and follow up with the finance department for timely availability of pay orders.
• Work with the finance team to resolve all bank-related discrepancies and issues.
• Report problems and irregularities in import-export activities.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant University Degree preferably in procurement and/or Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related areas.
• 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
• Knowledge of Customs and import-export shipping regulations and policies.
