Description:

Karavan Trading PLC /Karavan Coffee/ is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in managing the company's financial records, transactions, and reporting using Nylos, developed to streamline and enhance accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions: Record and maintain daily financial transactions using Nylos, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and any discrepancies are resolved.
  • Accounts Management: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Budget Monitoring: Assist in monitoring budgets and expenditures, providing regular updates and reports to management.
  • Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Data Entry: Input data into Nylos and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Expense Tracking: Track and report on company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and categorization.
  • Support Senior Accountants: Assist senior accountants and finance managers with various accounting tasks and projects.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and organizing financial documents.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous internship or work experience in accounting is a plus but not required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions:

Location: At any Karavan Trading Branch in Addis Ababa

Hours: Full-time position, standard business hours, with potential for overtime during busy periods.
