Job Description Required Number: One (1) Location: Addis Ababa Employment Type: permanent Under the direct supervision and technical support from preparedness and capacity building Directorate, the officer will involve in document preparation, capacity building activities, database/rostering of the Public health emergency management workforce, mentoring, supervise and perform and follow the overall activities expected from the preparedness and capacity building directorate. The officer involves fully dedicated to capacity building activities like Frontline and advanced FETP programs that are implemented throughout the country. Additionally, the officer may engage in all public health emergency related activities like surveillance and response. Roles and Responsibility: o Provision of Pre- or in-service training for graduates/Health professionals o Baseline assessment of system functionality and following impact of capacity building activities o Conducting capacity building need assessment like training needs assessment and provision of training according to identified gaps o Coordinating routine RRT and EMT training for rapid response teams and provision of training for newly joining members o Coordinate and facilitate document preparation/revision (Manuals, Guidelines, SOP, training materials) Workshop o Rostering of professional training received by RRT members or actors in PHEM system o Monitoring the impact of capacity building activities especially training implementation impact o Provision of short-term (frontline field epidemiology training) and coordinating long-term (advanced FETP, Ph.D., etc.) training o Curriculum development with higher educational institutions to integrate PHEM concepts o Ensure the recruitment of new staff in collaboration with other teams according to the needs of each PHEM directorate o Participate in surveillance, timely investigation and response activities in case of an outbreak in case need o Work with stakeholders to strengthen overall capacity building related activities. Job Requirements - BSc degree in health background, four (4) years relevant work experience, General MPH with Zero (0) years’ experience (PHEM experience more than a year is an advantage)
