Responsibilities and Duties He/She is responsible for managing project cash accounting and related tasks for 6 Projects independently and in line with GIZs rules and regulations He/She is Tasks for the: Data entry in Accounting Software (WINPACCS Cashbook) Handle petty cash accounts and make all cash payments for all projects. This includes payment in the rural areas (Amhara and Oromia). Make timely cash replenishment request when cash account reaches to the minimum balance Managing VAT and purchase & service claims in a timely manner Issue Withholding Tax Receipt to the payer wherever applicable. Effective coordination with colleagues at the country office and projects Provide required documents for an auditor whenever Internal Control is conducted and assist on the follow-up of auditor’s findings. Follow-up and check the timely settlement of cash travel advances. Filing according to GIZ-Standards Ensure that unused receipts and checks are kept in safe custody. Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the supervisor. Report irregularities observed, if any, to the superior. Treat information confidentially, specifically in the areas of personnel and finance. Qualifications University degree (BA) in accounting, business management or equivalent. Proven knowledge of English and Amharic language, written and spoken. Professional experience Knowledge of GIZ rules & regulations and systems is a plus Advanced MS-Office skills 2 years of professional experience as a Cashier or similar position Capability of concise and coherent reporting along with standard formats. Trustworthiness and ability to maintaining strict confidentiality and observing data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate. Ability to organize and prioritize several tasks at the same time. Ability to work independently, unsupervised and as part of a multicultural and international team
