Ambulance Driver (Hawassa)

Job Summary

To transport seriously ill or injured employees from their homes or accident sites to hospitals. Also transfer non-emergency patients from one location to another and may assist the clinic health professionals with moving patients on stretchers under the direction of BGI clinic health professionals’ order.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete a mechanical checklist prior to each shift to ensure ambulance is in working order and ready to transport patients to and from required locations and report any mechanical issues to appropriate service personnel.
• Ensure ambulance is clean and stocked properly with first aid and medical supplies prior to each shift and between patient transports throughout the day.
• Accept patient transport assignments daily and drive ambulance with direct order from the duty clinic health personnel to patient location.
• Get proper preventive maintenance service for the vehicle according to schedule and adjust, lubrication and service time by not affecting day to day work,
• Manage the vehicle logbook for fuel & lubricant usage, movement and milage, and any malfunctions and accidents and report with the given reporting schedule,
• Help patients onto ambulance journey and load them into the ambulance, assisted by partner or other medical personnel.
• Ensure that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid accident, penalty and towing,
• Ensure all the necessary safety pre-conditions are met before getting onboard,
• Responsible for equipment, tools, chains, spare tyres placed in the vehicles and reports any changes,
• Report accident or other emergency facts to employee health supervoros and/or law enforcement when necessary.
• Transport patient to assigned medical facility, unload patient and take patient inside facility and to were directed by medical personnel.

Job Requirements

• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Amharic.
• Knowledge of in mechanics is added advantage.

Education

• The position requires a minimum of Professional driving license, First aid training from a recognized company.

Experience

• 3 years’ experience providing driving to company
