Job Responsibilities
- Abide by and execute the functional strategy cascaded by the functional lead
- Assist in review of the functional strategy and roadmap, in collaboration with the functional lead, to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
- Participate in strategic meetings, when required
- Execute OpCo-wide transformation initiatives, when required by the functional lead
- Implement adequate risk mitigation and controls, with directions from the functional lead
- Assist in the evaluation of baseline of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs, when required
- Assist in the preparation of proposals on change initiatives, SLA, policies and procedures, when required
- Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource impact to the functional lead
- Execute projects initiated in the specific sub-function
- Abide by the established objectives, targets and budgets for the sub-function, when required
- Document identified key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions, with guidance from the functional lead
- Prepare documentation required for sign-off on tactical changes
- Ensure execution in alignment with divisional strategy
- Report daily to the functional lead relating to progress made within the work area and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
- Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects, as required
- Execute initiatives aligned to Fintech’s API strategy, in line with the group API strategy
- Assist in the development and implementation of developer social media communities
- Execute and catalogue API documentation
- Consolidate developer feedback to ensure the API roadmap takes into consideration developer challenges
- Conduct first level analysis and manage external engagements with developer communities, when required
- Support in the implementation of the Fintech API roadmap
- Prepare business sessions with the developer community. Ensure API documentation and product specifications are up to industry standards
- Identify and document key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions, with guidance from the manager
- Provide reports in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the Line Manager
- Report on metrics relating to the performance of the API product, such as usage and revenue
- Execute performance monitoring against metrics to measure API usage and engagement within OpCo
- Produce Product Specification documents, Scope of Work documents, and user requirement specifications
- Analyse and support a plan to improve API usage and developer community engagement
- Develop relationships with key partners to improve awareness of the API platform
- Execute the entire new product/vertical release, change and configuration in the OpCo
- Execute strategic partnerships in this regard, with key partners as identified by the group, and under the guidance of the manager
- Other tasks and duties, as assigned
Job requirements
Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
- Minimum Bachelor’s academic degree coupled with an MBA/Masters
- A 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field will be advantageous
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ total experience in managing & implementing Mobile Money/FinTech APIs
- Experience in Fintech, banking or Financial Services is preferred
- Experience in Fintech, Financial Services, Transport Tech, AgriTech or Fintech Adjacent services
- Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding of emerging markets is preferred.
