Assistant Electrician

Job Summary

The Assistant Electrician is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in the steel manufacturing plant. The role supports the continuous operation of electrical machinery, ensures compliance with safety standards, and helps minimize equipment downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance.

Academic Qualification

• TVET Level I–IV or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• TVET Level I: Minimum of 4 years of direct work experience in the steel manufacturing industry.
• TVET Level IV: Minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in the steel manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults under the guidance of senior electricians.
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components, wiring, and control systems.
• Ensure electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Maintain maintenance records and report equipment issues.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and electrical standards at all times.
• Support production teams in minimizing equipment downtime.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
