Business Development Executive at EM Trading PLC

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Executive to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a hungry, self-motivated professional with strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the Ethiopian import/export landscape. You will be responsible for acquiring new clients, managing relationships with Ethiopian importers, and driving revenue growth for our halal food product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify and target Ethiopian importers, distributors, supermarkets, hotels, and food service companies 
  • Present and promote the Ethio halal food product portfolio 
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets 
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals with new clients 

Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.  Client Relationship Management: 

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with Ethiopian buyers 
  • Understand client needs and recommend suitable products 
  • Provide after-sales support and resolve client issues promptly 

Gather market feedback to improve service offerings.  Market Intelligence: 

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing 
  • Identify new product opportunities for the Ethiopian market 
  • Provide insights to management on market demands and consumer preferences

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management 
  • Experience in import/export, food and beverage, FMCG, or logistics industry is highly preferred 
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Amharic 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with CRM software is an advantage 
  • Ability to travel within Addis Ababa and regions
