Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans.
- Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all construction activities.
- Ensure safe execution of pipeline works, trenching, welding, water treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor compliance with excavation safety, confined space entry, lifting operations, and work-at-height standards.
- Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed root cause analysis reports.
- Deliver safety induction, toolbox talks, and regular HSE training for workers and subcontractors.
- Enforce proper use of PPE and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Supervising Engineer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Engineering, or Construction Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Risk Management).
- Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in water supply infrastructure projects (pipeline construction, water treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, boreholes).
- Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, excavation safety, confined space safety, chemical handling, and emergency procedures.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety training delivery.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills (English required).
